Full Time Employment…

...for the BATF?

Or maybe they’ll have to take a cut in their personnel?

An item in today’s Pueblo Chieftain inadvertantly brings to mind all the fun and games the infamous Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) had at a small commune outside of Waco, Texas, some years ago.

Then the challenge was a bunch of weirdo ‘christians’ with ‘guns’ and an alleged drug lab. However, the drug lab business was just a ruse on the part of the BATF to get the Army’s Joint Task Force-6 to provide training in how to conduct military operations in a built-up environment. As it turned out there was NO such drug lab. Oops. So sorry. We apologize for killing 84 men, women and children in this all too typical no-knock raid. Our mistake.

NOW, with the cost of gasoline going through the roof, the BATF is faced with a new challenge......

The article focus is upon people making their own ethanol to power their internal-combustion equipment; cars, tractors, power generators, etc., etc., etc.

There’s ONE ‘small’ sticking point. Ethanol is also good to drink. If you’re into that sort of thingie, i.e., moonshine, vodka, hooch.

So if scads of people are going to start making their own vodka to use in their engines, how is the BATF supposed to ‘manage’ their activities?

Their proposed ‘solution’ is to add poison to the product to make people either sick or blind or seriously dead. [Note: That’s some form of governanace, if you ask me....but please don’t.]

The truth of the matter is that the law is unenforceable. If people are going to make alcohol to save gas dollars, the BATF cannot hire enough people to keep tabs on the production.

This is a clear example of how the government seems more intent on making laws and regulations that interfere with commerce than rational persons would care for.

But, based on past performance (see above), God help the christian church that wants to make it for heating their facilities or operating their vehicles. Especially if any of them own guns.....
