I Hate This S----! [That’s Stuff, Buckie]
You’d hate it to, if it happened to you.
Cripes! Now I can empathize with Christ at the crucifixion. It felt like someone suddenly drove a spike through the right foot, just at the knuckle behind the big toe. It was a birthday gift from my Dad. And now I have probably passed it on to my grandsons, should I have any, via my daughters. Sakes.....
This sort of thing was happening, mostly in the evening and WAY too early in the morning. It’s been going of since 27 January. But now it is finally subsiding.
Modern medicine shoots you full of things to deal with the pain, but, based on what I’ve seen, can’t do much else about it except advise you to stay away from beans and don’t walk around so much on it.
The AMA is going to hate me for this, but....
I found I could deal with the acute symptoms, the pain, using homeopathic techniques.
At first it was difficult. The previous bout with it had started the day I moved into this wonderful house in Pueblo. That time it attacked the same knuckle but on my LEFT foot. Lasted about three months. I finally applied homeopathy to it and discovered that colchicum, common name meadow saffron, worked. However, not having twigged to applying homeopathy early on, I now have a click in my left step that will not permit me to sneak up on people.
At any rate, there are, according to Boericke, 46 different materia medica that can be used to treat gout. And, as always with homeopathy, you have to choose the proper agent to get any REALLY effective result. And, apparently, colchicum was NOT the remedy for this attack. So, I was trying them by the numbers. But with little affect. Then I noticed I was having chills as well. So, looking up gout AND chills, I narrowed the field to three possbilities. Two of which I did not have on hand. However, I did have lycopodium, common name club moss. The lycopodium, it WORKED!!!!!!
Fifteen minutes after taking it, in accordance with standard homeopathic proceedure, someone pulled the spike out of my foot and I could go to sleep.
Since then the chronic symptoms, the niggling, twitchy, hot sensation has been slowly subsiding.
One other aspect of this attack was that my mental accuity was dramatically reduced. I could carry on a conversation, but writing code and even doing creative blogging were not going to happen. Hence the lack of activity on my part here for the last couple of months. Before then it was Susan’s campaign for the legislature was eating up all my creative energy.
So, we’re getting back to normal.
Hoping to post more items. Especially since there has been a rush of possible topics of late.
