The 2008 AG
Imagery, anyone?
We have an opportunity to develop and print our own signage, banners and posters for this activity.
To lift a line from Ghostbusters; “We have the tools. We have the skill.” And indeed we do.
We’ve got a number of talented people in the group. We’ve access to a number of tools; computers, software, printers.
I know a number of us have talent with respect to graphic design. Others are talented with cameras. Some of us, including myself, have powerful computers and graphic software, e.g., PhotoShop and Illustrator. Then again, we’ve got access to a large-format (44” width) printer that is capable of printing for outside use, as well as inside.
Why shouldn’t we avail ourselves of all of this and create our own marketing program?
Therefore, I solicit our fellow Ms to contribute to the development of the logos, signage and other advertising to support the coming event. Just comment here on what you think would be a good motif and/or what you could contribute to this effort.

Below is an article written by Cookie Bakke to help promote and advertise the 2008 Denver AG. Please include it in your local group publications if at all possible. This is going to be a great event and we want to encourage everyone to attend.
Thank you very much.
Tony Jackowski
AG Co-Chairman
This is our official “Rev Up Your Engines” call. We NEED every bit of pep and energy that can be squeezed out of the M-State of Colorado.
First, please mark your calendars right now ... June 9th at the Adam’s Mark Hotel.
This will be our first All Committee Meeting. We don’t know which room we’ll be meeting in as of this writing, so please look for an M sign in the lobby or ask at the desk.
Co-Chair Kim Jackowski will be there,
Hospitality Chair Linda Hathaway will be there,
Logistics Chair Marc Lederman will be there,
one of the National Office folks will be there ... and
Speakers/Entertainment chair Cookie Bakke will be there, too.
We’ll meet from about 3:00 to 6:00 and then get set up for a 7:00 PM Meet and Greet Reception.
One of the reasons for having this meeting/reception in early June is so that our entire committee can be firmly in place by the time the Birmingham AG is held. We need YOU there so that we can lasso you, tie you to the committee, and make you a HAPPY COWBOY!!!! Any positions that are still open in July will be filled by volunteers from around the country, although we’d so much rather have as many Colorado folks as possible making up the core of the 2008 AG effort. So PLEASE be at the Adam’s Mark on June 9th. Once there, all you have to do is smile and say YES. Once you’re lassoed, we’ll show you the way to a terrific 2008 once-in-a-lifetime Mensa experience. Promise.
On July 2, on the first day of this year’s AG, we go into HIGH GEAR on Rocky Mountain High IQ. We’ve compiled a massive list of potential speakers (expect 250 speaker slots to be filled!), a terrific Hospitality plan, and some great surprises to showcase the incredible state of Colorado. The 2008 AG WEBSITE will go “live” on July 2 and we will begin accepting registrations at the “early registration rate” (that is good until the end of July) in Birmingham. In next month’s newsletters, you’ll see a copy of the registration form that can be used for those of you who are not able to register online.
Some of the people we really need are:Writers (for publicity duties),
Registration Specialists for on-site duties,
Trips & Tours Coordinator,
Colorado volunteer coordinator,
Security help (you get to wear a silver badge and act important!), and
some Denver area volunteers to assist with pre-Hospitality.
We’re also looking for any and all NEW IDEAS that will help make the 2008 AG a Memorable Experience for the 1200+ Mensans we expect will descend on Denver.
Oh, and one more thing.
Please pick up your telephone and call at least 2 other Mensans who might not be reading this. Say, “Hey, we really want you to be at the Adam’s Mark on June 9th. Can you make it? Huh? Huh? Please????????”on 05/12 at 02:00 AM -
Gives Thanks for the place. What do you all imagine of the future of blogging? I have been learning a lot about google’s endeavor to gain advantageous treatment for its site from cyberspace providers. This will leave successful their sites being smoother than sites owned by in.
