An ‘Observation’….
....on rank hypocrisy.
Some time back, I used to comment on Amy Alkon’s web-site, i.e., blog. This commenting went on for some time. Then it suddenly stopped. Why? Because she ‘killed’ me. And for what? Disagreeing with her and other commenters on her web-site.
So Amy has had a book published about ‘rude’ people and how she deals with them.
I only found out about it by visiting the blog operated by Dr. Helen Smith, who mentioned the book.
So I commented on my opinion of how Amy deals with ‘rude’ people, i.e., by ‘killing’ them. You can read the thread I See Rude People, HERE.
At any rate, Amy came back at me with a comment. And I promised her a reply to her comment to be published today.
For some ‘strange reason’, I can’t publish my reply at Dr. Helen’s blog.
So....
....I publish it here....

RE: Amy Alkon’s Comment (Above)
Chucks is being untruthful—he has a grudge against me as about one of four people who’ve been banned from my site after NUMEROUS other commenters begged me to do so. —Amy Alkon
Interesting projection, that: “untruthful”. I wish she’d prove her point. And prove me wrong here.
On the one hand, ‘grudge’ implies anger. I’m hardly ‘angry’ with her doing what she wants on her blog-site. I’m just pointing out that she’s something of a hypocrite. It’s as simple as that. ‘Anger’ and ‘hatred’ are not part of my religious beliefs in the first place.
On the other hand, her projection becomes manifest in that she admits to ‘killing’ me.
On the third hand, if she can’t prove her point that I’m being ‘untruthful’.....what does that mean? Three guesses....first two don’t count.....
In general, I’m a total free speecher. As long as you aren’t coming over to destroy my speech (as some “progressives” did—who posted hundreds of “Are you a tranny” comments on my site after I dared to say that children need daddies, and it’s wrong for a woman to have six different children by the age of 24 with five different drug dealers).—Amy Alkon
Yeah....Right....that’s why if you disagree with her in an effective manner, she ‘kills’ you.
I find it interesting that she has yet to reply to my query about showing proof of my ‘rudeness’. Let alone the reports of people ‘begging’ her to ‘kill’ me.
Again, I’m reminded of a famous statement. This one about ‘generalities’....
All generalizations are false, including this one.—Mark Twain
“Free speecher”? My fourth-point-of-contact. In truth, Amy’s about as much of a ‘free speecher’ as is Daily Kos, i.e., nada.
My book is not about cell phone rudeness alone—that’s just a small part of it. And I first stage whisper to people shouting into their phones, “Would you mind keeping it down?” Most do. —Amy Alkon
It might be interesting to see her book. Just to see if she is as much a hypocrite in IT as she is on the web.
The people who need to have a cost imposed are those who don’t care about your time, peace of mind, right to sleeping without being awakened by their shouting or loud music at 2am...those who think our attention belongs to them. —Amy Alkon
A ‘cost’? Interesting. Spoken like a true ‘progressive’. What sort of ‘cost’ does she plan on for those who disagree with her? Three guesses. First two don’t count....
These people are stealing from us, but because we don’t recognize these intangibles (like our attention) as resources, we let them victimize us. —Amy Alkon
Ah! ‘Stealing’. What about stealing ‘free speech’?
What was it someone once said?
The right to be heard does not autmatically include the right to be taken seriously.—Hubert H. Humphrey
The critical aspect here being the idea of a ‘right to be heard’. Hard to be heard when you’ve been ‘killed’.
I back up all my arguments with really good science, and while the Times piece didn’t include any of it, the reporter called up Robin Dunbar, on whose research I base my theory of rudeness (that rudeness is the human condition, and we’re rude because we live in societies too big for our brains—lacking constraints of a society where we all know each other, as we evolved to be in)...Dunbar apparently gave my theory a rave review.—Amy Alkon
Oh....
....I LOVE this....
“....really good science....”
Whenever I hear this sort of think, I have to wonder about references. It would be nice to see them.
As for the her ‘theory’ about our ‘rat-brains’ are too small to cope with a society soooooo-biiiigggg, I have serious doubts. And I’d REALLY like to see other theories explaining why some people think it is ‘really good’ to ‘kill’ other people who disagree with them.

Chuck(le)
[The Truth will out.....and I doubt if Amy is going to like it.....]
P.S. And Amy doesn’t have to take up bandwidth on Dr. Helen’s site to defend herself. She’s welcome at my place anytime. And she can be assured that I won’t ‘kill’ her.....
