Compare & Contrast I
A rather simple technique.....
...of gauging a religion is compare and contrast it against another religion.
I think I’m going to start doing just that with some of the more poigant aspects....
This first installment, or it could be considered the second, if you look at the comment made the other day about the sad case of Abdul Rahman.
At any rate, today’s aspect deals with the newly installed governing party of the Palestinians; Hamas.
In a recent item, Hamas declared....
“The Koran is our constitution, Jihad is our way, and death for the sake of God is our highest aspiration,” Hamas lawmaker Hamed Bitawi said.
I’ll take their word for that. However, there’s plenty of physical evidence—can you say suicide bomber— that they do believe that.
On the other hand, another major religion I’m familiar with seems to think that the highest aspiration is to “live for the sake of God”. The difference there is rather dramatic; like night and day. One religion aspires to death the other to life.
Go fig.
P.S. If General Patton were alive today, he’d be chuckling—darkly.
